Report Purchase and Credits
SwiftReporter supports both subscription plans and individual report credits for generating downloadable PDF reports. This page explains how report downloads are gated and how credits are used.
Subscription vs Individual Reports
Your ability to download a PDF report depends on your account status:
- Active subscription or trialing: You can download reports directly. The server determines whether a watermark is required based on your plan.
- Per-report credits: If you do not have an active subscription, you can purchase a pack of report credits.
- Paid inspections: Once a specific inspection is marked as paid, future downloads for that inspection do not consume additional credits.
Downloading a Report
From the inspection details page, the Download PDF button initiates report generation via a cloud function. Before downloading, SwiftReporter checks:
- Whether the inspection has already been paid for.
- Whether your account has an active subscription or trial.
- Whether you have any remaining report credits.
The app then follows these rules:
- If the inspection is already paid, the PDF is generated and downloaded immediately.
- If you have an active subscription or trial, the PDF is generated without consuming credits.
- If you have credits and payment is required, you can choose to use a credit to unlock a non-watermarked PDF.
- If you do not have credits or a subscription, you may still be offered a watermarked PDF download depending on your account and configuration.
Purchasing Report Credits
You can purchase additional report credits from the Purchase Reports screen:
- Navigate to Account > Purchase Reports.
- Choose quantity: Select the number of reports you want to buy.
- Complete checkout: You are redirected to Stripe to complete payment securely.
- Return to SwiftReporter: After checkout, your report credit balance is updated and can be applied to future downloads.
Each report credit typically unlocks one inspection report for non-watermarked PDF downloads.
Managing Your Subscription
Use the Manage Subscription screen to:
- View current subscription status (active, trialing, past due, canceled, etc.).
- See renewal or expiration dates.
- Open the Stripe Customer Portal to update payment details, view invoices, or change/cancel your plan.
If your subscription is set to cancel at the end of the period, the app shows a note so you know when access will change. You can still use report credits after your subscription ends.
