Importing HomeGauge Templates

Importing HomeGauge Templates

SwiftReporter can import HomeGauge inspection templates from a .ht5 file so you can keep your existing structure, questions, info notes, and comment library while moving to SwiftReporter.

Import HomeGauge Template option in the create template dialog

Uploading a HomeGauge .ht5 file in SwiftReporter

What gets imported

  • Report sections and categories from the HomeGauge outline
  • Inspection items as subcategories
  • Condition ratings as checkbox questions
  • Selection menus as dropdown (and companion text) questions
  • Section intros/footers as info notes (required-notes groups)
  • The full HomeGauge comment library, including comments not attached to the outline

Prerequisites

  • A signed-in SwiftReporter account
  • A HomeGauge template file (.ht5)
  • HomeGauge import is for residential (home inspection) templates. It is not shown when you are creating a marine survey template.

Steps

  1. Open Templates and choose Create New Template (or open Create from the AI wizard’s alternate starting points).
  2. Select Import HomeGauge Template (directly under Spectora import).
  3. Enter a template name.
  4. Choose your .ht5 file (max 10MB).
  5. Confirm import and wait for conversion to finish.

After success, the new template becomes available in your library. Required-note comments used by Overview blurbs are created immediately; remaining library comments continue creating in the background and appear in the Comments library shortly.

Tips

  • Large HomeGauge templates can take a minute to import.
  • Review Overview notes and Condition checkboxes after import.
  • Defect comments may arrive without recommendations; you can edit those in the Comments library later.
  • HomeGauge section aliases (for example Garage Roof / Main Roof) are listed as warnings and are not auto-duplicated into separate categories.
