Marine Survey Templates
- Pre-Purchase Condition & Value (C&V): Vessel condition and valuation surveys
- Insurance Surveys: Marine insurance condition surveys
- Damage Surveys: Post-incident vessel assessments
Marine prebuilt templates have their Industry set to Marine Survey, so any inspection started from one of them shows a Vessel Identifier field instead of Property Address and uses marine-survey vocabulary in AI assistance and on the report PDF. See the Template Settings guide for details.
What to expect from the Pre-Purchase Condition & Value prebuilt
The Pre-Purchase C&V template is large on purpose, and its structure is tuned for marine surveyors:
- Uses Report Sections. Top-level survey groupings (vessel particulars, hull and structure, propulsion, electrical, safety, and so on) are Report Sections. Categories and subcategories sit underneath. The sections appear in the inspection completion view, the preview, the Table of Contents, and the generated PDF.
- Narrative fields are required-notes groups. Where the old template had a large block of surveyor narrative, this prebuilt models that narrative as required-notes groups. Every one of those groups has Allow Add note turned on, so you can satisfy the group either by picking a preset note or by adding any note from the library (or creating a new note inline) right from the inspection.
- Inline photos are off on narrative questions. Purely narrative questions don't show the "Allow photos" toggle — photo evidence for marine observations lives on the observation itself, the same as a residential inspection.
- Companion notes spreadsheet for bulk import. The prebuilt ships with a recommended library of defect and note text as a CSV / Excel file. An organization admin can import that file into the Comments library through the normal bulk import wizard so every surveyor using this template starts with the recommended wording. See the Creating and Managing Comments guide (bulk import: CSV or Excel) for the import flow.
- "Hide title" is a manual follow-up after import. The bulk comment import does not carry a "hide title" column. Notes that should print with the title hidden on the report arrive with that toggle off and must be flipped on manually in the comment editor. See the Creating and Managing Notes guide (hide title in the report).
- Large initial "questions answered" count is expected. A sections-and-notes-heavy template shows a large denominator in the progress meter (for example "4 of 250 questions answered") because the count includes required-notes items, not only classic question rows. That large number reflects the depth of the Pre-Purchase template rather than a broken meter.
