Connect AI Apps with SwiftReporter MCP

SwiftReporter MCP lets supported AI apps work with your SwiftReporter account. You can ask an AI assistant to find inspections, update observations, work with contacts and appointments, generate reports, and perform other supported tasks using plain language.

The AI app can only use records and actions already available to your signed-in SwiftReporter account. Your role, organization access, subscription, and feature access still apply.

Before you begin

  • Have an active SwiftReporter account.
  • Use an AI app that supports remote MCP connections, such as Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini.
  • Be ready to sign in to SwiftReporter in your browser and review the requested access.

The SwiftReporter MCP server address is:

https://app.swiftreporter.com/api/mcp

You do not need a SwiftReporter API key or client secret.

Connect from Cursor

  1. Open Customize in Cursor.
  2. Search for SwiftReporter in the plugin or MCP marketplace.
  3. Select Install, then enable the SwiftReporter MCP server.
  4. Select Connect.
  5. Sign in to SwiftReporter in the browser, review the requested access, and approve the connection.

If SwiftReporter does not appear after installation, reload the Cursor window and confirm that the plugin and MCP server are enabled.

Connect from Claude

Claude or Claude Desktop

  1. Open Customize → Connectors.
  2. Select +, then Add custom connector.
  3. Name the connector SwiftReporter.
  4. Enter https://app.swiftreporter.com/api/mcp as the remote MCP server URL.
  5. Select Add, then Connect.
  6. Sign in to SwiftReporter in the browser and approve access.

Team and Enterprise workspaces may require an owner or admin to add the connector before members can connect.

Claude Code

Run:

claude mcp add --transport http swiftreporter https://app.swiftreporter.com/api/mcp

Then run /mcp in Claude Code, select swiftreporter, and complete sign-in in the browser.

Connect from ChatGPT

Your ChatGPT plan and workspace must support custom MCP apps. A workspace administrator may also need to enable developer mode.

  1. Open Settings → Apps in ChatGPT.
  2. Select Create to create a custom app.
  3. Name the app SwiftReporter.
  4. Enter https://app.swiftreporter.com/api/mcp as the MCP server URL.
  5. Select Scan tools, review the available tools, and create the app.
  6. Connect the app, sign in to SwiftReporter in the browser, and approve access.

Enable the SwiftReporter app in a conversation before asking ChatGPT to use it.

Connect from Gemini

Gemini CLI

  1. Open the SwiftReporter for Gemini package.
  2. Follow its installation steps to add the included SwiftReporter server entry to your Gemini settings.
  3. Start or restart Gemini CLI.
  4. Run /mcp auth swiftreporter.
  5. Sign in to SwiftReporter in the browser and approve access.
  6. Run /mcp list to confirm that SwiftReporter is available.

Managed Gemini workspace

Ask your workspace administrator to add a custom MCP server named SwiftReporter using https://app.swiftreporter.com/api/mcp. When it becomes available, select SwiftReporter, choose Authorize, and sign in to your account.

Use SwiftReporter from an AI app

Start with a clear request, such as:

  • “List my active inspections.”
  • “Show the observations for the Smith Street inspection.”
  • “Add an observation for damaged roof flashing.”
  • “Find a reusable comment about roof flashing.”
  • “Create an appointment for this contact next Tuesday at 10 AM.”
  • “Generate the PDF report and tell me when it is ready.”

Your AI app may ask you to approve actions. Review the details carefully before approving anything that creates, changes, deletes, merges, shares, or sends information.

Access and paid reports

  • The AI app uses the same access you have in SwiftReporter. It cannot open records or use features that your account cannot access.
  • Organization access follows your SwiftReporter role and permissions.
  • An AI app cannot purchase reports or spend report credits for you.
  • If a report requires payment or a report credit for a watermark-free download, complete that step in SwiftReporter.

Disconnect an AI app

  1. Sign in to SwiftReporter.
  2. Open Account → Connected Apps.
  3. Find the AI app and select Revoke.

Revoking access disconnects that app from your SwiftReporter account. You can connect it again later by repeating the setup steps.

Troubleshooting

  • The connection page does not open: Confirm the MCP server address and try Connect again.
  • SwiftReporter tools are missing: Confirm the connector is enabled for the current conversation and that your account can access the requested feature.
  • Authentication expired: Reconnect the app and complete sign-in again.
  • A write action is unavailable: Your role, permissions, or account access may allow viewing but not changing that record.
